Aubrey “Guy” Huddleston, 76, well known resident of the Ripley Community, construction supervisor and barber before his retirement, departed this life of natural causes Saturday June 30, 2018 at his residence near Ripley.
Funeral Services honoring the life of this Christian gentleman will be at 10 AM Tuesday, July 3, at his beloved Falkner Baptist Church with Bro. Stanley Huddleston and Bro. Steve Cohea officiating. Burial will follow at Falkner Cemetery. Arrangements will be provided by The Ripley Funeral Home.
Mr. Huddleston was born October 3, 1941 in Tippah County to the late Charlie Wesley and Lillian Bernice Rogers Huddleston. He received his education in the Tippah County School System and was a graduate of Falkner High School. He was the devoted husband of his wife, the former Bobbie Ruth Passon, who preceded him in death on March 21, 2010.
In earlier years Mr. Huddleston was a member of the Mississippi National Guard during the Hurricane Camille period. He was a Southern Baptist and will be remembered by many as a barber in Ripley and also a construction supervisor. He found much pleasure in later years by serving as a custodian at the Falkner Elementary School. Mr. Huddleston was blessed with the friendship of many and the love that he shared with his family. Activities that included gardening, fishing, traveling, sports and “story telling” were pleasures that he enjoyed.
A visitation for family and friends will be from 5 to 8 PM Monday, July 2, at the Ripley Funeral Home and will continue at the church one hour before services.
Mr. Huddleston is survived by his children Cheryl Huddleston Heavener of Ripley and David “Brent” Huddleston (Brenda) of Pearl, MS, six brothers, Charles Fulton Huddleston (Martha) of Shawnee, KS, Winston Wade Huddleston (Sue) of Falkner, MS, Billy Joe Huddleston (Judy) of Memphis, TN, Danny Ray Huddleston (Sandy) of Lebanon, OH, Jimmy Don Huddleston of Falkner, MS, and Ronald Wesley Huddleston (Debbie) of Falkner, MS and one sister Judy Ann Huddleston of Falkner, MS, and his much loved grandchildren Kayla Huddleston Sween (Richard), Wesley Neil Heavener, Kristin Nicole Huddleston, Matthew Brent Huddleston and Marlee Ruth Heavener.
Those honored to serve as active and honorary pallbearers will be Wes Heavener, Stanley Thornton, Richard Sween, Jacob Evans, Steven Wooley, Tyler Green and Matt Huddleston.
He was preceded in death by a brother Jerrell “Conrad” Huddleston
