TUSCUMBIA – Attorney Chad Smith announced he is running for District Judge of Colbert County in the Republican Primary.
Smith is currently a municipal judge in Tuscumbia and has 10 years of experience practicing law in the District Court of Colbert County.
“I would be honored to serve the citizens of Colbert County in the capacity of District Judge,” Smith said. “This election is of utmost importance because the District Court serves the most vulnerable of our community — our children. It is imperative that we elect someone with the experience necessary to maintain the highest standards of judicial integrity and protect the rights of the innocent.”
Smith has a long track record of community service, serving in the Tuscumbia Kiwanis Club and on various boards, including the Children’s Museum of the Shoals, Habitat for Humanity, the Music Preservation Society and the Helen Keller Festival. He also serves on the NorthwestShoals Community College Foundation Board.
“Experience matters, and I have a decade of experience practicing in the District Court of Colbert County,” Smith said. “I look forward to putting those years of experience to work for you.”
A native of Tuscumbia, Smith graduated from Deshler High School in 2004. He earned degrees in history and political science from the University of Alabama before graduating with honors from law school.
He is married to Jennifer Curtis Smith; they reside in Tuscumbia with their three young children, Curt, Wyatt and Lillie Cecilia. The Smiths are members of Calvary Baptist Church.
