ATHENS– Athens State University will offer a class for those interested in obtaining a ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certificate. There are two opportunities to take this class in the near future: May 19 and August 25 at the University’s Center for Lifelong Learning located on the east side of the Limestone County Courthouse Square. Times for both classes are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The cost of $175 includes textbook and exam.
The ServSafe Food Protection program blends the latest FDA food codes, food safety research and years of food sanitation experience. Students will learn to implement essential food safety practices and create a culture of food safety.
“This is our third time to host this program,” states Center Director Dr. Diane Sauers. “Attendees have all realized that there is no need to drive to Huntsville for this type of training.”
ServSafe is the premier provider of food safety training. The coursework is designed for employees seeking a Food Handler Card or an operation seeking a compliant solution for your employees.
