ATHENS – Athens State Assistant Professor of Management and Statistics Kim Bell has been named the Interim Director of the University’s Center for Lifelong Learning. She will serve in this position for one year while a search is launched to find a permanent Director.

acumen that I feel will benefit the Center,” said Athens State Interim Provost Ron Ingle. “With a member of our College of Business faculty involved in the daily oversight, it will give us the opportunity to develop new strategies as far as curriculum offerings and the overall promotion of the Center.”
The Center for Lifelong Learning is the non-credit division of Athens State University. Its mission is to provide opportunities for students and the surrounding community to participate in community activities and educational opportunities that meet the career development and personal enrichment needs of our region. The Center extends to the community the benefits of the academic excellence of the University by offering innovative, high-quality, flexible programs designed to enrich the quality of life and promote economic and personal development for all people.
Ingle added, “The Center for Lifelong Learning quickly became an academic touchstone for the community in the five years since it was opened by Athens State on the Limestone County Courthouse Square.”
Bell began her interim directorship on July 1. She will continue her professorial duties on a limited basis during the one-year placement.
