ATHENS — On Saturday, April 23, 2022, members of the Athens Rotary Club donned their gardening gear to refresh the landscaping at the United Way of Athens-Limestone County office. This project helped to restore the outside façade after the removal of the overgrown and diseased landscaping several months ago. From planning to planting, the Athens Rotary Club played a major role in ensuring that the corner of Marion and Lee Streets looked its best.
Volunteers from the Athens Rotary Club arrived early Saturday morning and worked together to plant all the shrubbery and other blooming plants. The volunteers covered the plant beds with a layer of pine straw when finished. With this project completed, United Way will look more inviting to the community and have an easier time maintaining its outdoor space. If you would like to see the results of the project, you can drive by the United Way of Athens-Limestone County building located at 419 S. Marion St.
