Athens Proclaims The Week Of April 12 -18 Tele-Communicators Week

ATHENS-On Wednesday, April 8th Mayor Ronnie Marks proclaimed April 12-18 as Tele-Communicators Week in the City of Athens.

Here is the proclamation:

                                      TELE-COMMUNICATORS WEEK

 

Whereas, when an emergency occurs a prompt emergency response is critical to the protection of life and preservation of property; and 
Whereas, the safety of our emergency responders is dependent upon the quality and accuracy of information obtained from citizens who call for assistance; and 
Whereas, Tele-Communicators are the first, First Responders, and the most critical contact our citizens have with emergency services; and 
Whereas, Tele-Communicators are the single vital link for our emergency responders, by monitoring their activities via radio and providing them with information, thereby ensuring their safety; and 
Whereas, Tele-Communicators from various Athens and Limestone County agencies operating in Athens have contributed substantially to the apprehension of criminals, suppression of fires and medical aid to patients. 
Therefore, Be It Resolved that the City of Athens, Alabama declares the week of April 12th through the 18th, 2015 to be

 

National Tele-Communicators Week


In Athens, Alabama, in honor of the men and women

whose diligence and professionalism keep our

city and citizens safe.
