Athens Police Make Arrest In Tuesday’s Hit-And-Run Accident

ATHENS-On March 25, 2025, at approximately 22:25mt, the Athens Police Department responded to the area of US Highway 72, west of Interstate 65 for a hit-and-run collision, vehicle v. pedestrian.

Following an investigation and receiving tips from the public, the Athens Police Department identified Bethany Jade Gray (DOB 11/19/1984) as the driver of the Kia Telluride.

Due to Gray fleeing the scene after being involved in an accident with injuries, she was arrested and booked in for Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Injuries.

Gray was transported to the Limestone County Jail with a $5000.00 bond.  See attached booking photo of Bethany Jade Gray.

The pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.     As of a few hours ago, the subject was stable and awaiting surgery.
