Athens Man Arrested On Drug Charges

ATHENS-Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson released a statement concerning an arrest made on Friday, October 21:

“Friday afternoon Investigators Mickey Hart and Joe McClanahan arrested Michael R. Hines for trafficking in cannabis. The arrest occurred after investigator with our department obtained a search warrant for Hines residence at 102 Edinburg Drive. In the search investigators located 2.5 pounds of marijuana. They also seized an Apple I phone 6, 2 sets of digital scales, 1 shot gun and $898.00 in cash. The value of the marijuana is estimated to be $4240.00. Hines was booked at the police department and later transferred to the county jail.”
