ATHENS-Athens has a fun summer instore for all who visit.   Here are a few of the events from the Athens-Limestone County Tourism Office that you can be a part  from June 20th through July 19th.

summer art strollJune 27th — Summer Art Stroll  Limestone County Courthouse Lawn, Downtown Athens, AL   Stroll among the rows of art and meet the artist of the Athens Art League from 4:00PM-8:00PM.  Featured music by The Charles and Grant Show.

June 28th –  Athens Saturday Market at the Limestone County Farmers Market 409 West Green Street, Athens, AL from 8:00AM-12:00PM will feature local farmers, small businesses and artisans.

zombie fun runJun 28th — Zombie Fun Run   Athens Greenway, Athens, AL   You run, they chase — will you escape or be turned into a zombie?   This crowd favorite fundraiser for Relay for Life of Limestone – 8:00AM and continuing throughout the day contact: Ina4Relay@gmail.com.  Register at www.iamathlete.com/events/zombiefunrunal

July  5th — Athens Cruise- on the Square in downtown Athens, AL

mud volleyballJuly 19th — CASA Mud Volley Tournament   Athens Swan Creek Park U.S. Highway 31, Athens, AL   Approximately 100 teams compete for the championship as they volleyball in the mud starting at 9:00AM. July 19th — 3rd Annual Sam Gibbons Walking Horse Show   Limestone Sheriff’s Arena Alabama Highway 99, Athens, AL   Join the Alabama Veterans Museum and Archives for their annual fundraiser benefitting the expansion of the museum.  Class sheet can be picked up at the Veterans Museum 100 Pryor Street in Athens or at Copier Doctor 808 South Clinton Street in Athens.  Admission is free and show begins at 5:00PM, gates and concessions open at 4:00PM.  For more information contact the Veterans Museum at256-771-7578.
