Funeral services for Arthur Samuel Taylor Jr., 79, will be held Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015, at 1 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Clanton. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home with Serge Bisceglia officiating. Interment will follow in Bethany Baptist Cemetery at 9212 Co. Rd. 49, Verbena, Alabama 36091.
Mr. Taylor, who was born June 27, 1936, to the late Arthur S. Taylor Sr., and the late Alice O’Brazzell Taylor in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, died Dec. 8, 2015, at St. Vincent’s East in Trussville. Arthur dedicated over 21 years in the United States Air Force and was a Korean War veteran. He was very active in the VFW and American Legion, serving as a member of the Honor Guard. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Taylor and his parents.
He is survived by his daughters, Janet Taylor of Birmingham, Felicia (Danny) Bandy of Marbury, Amber Taylor of Birmingham, Rene’ (Joe) Spain of Birmingham; his sons, Jimmy (Gena) Taylor of Gulf Breeze, Florida, Derek (Heidi) Taylor of Acworth, Georgia, Keith Cox of Clanton; sisters, Pat Keaney of Hampton Beach, New Hampshire, Jayne (Ted) Taraski of Franklin, Massachusetts; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.
