Dr. Arthur Jack Hyatt, 91, of Grant, Alabama, passed from his earthly home to his heavenly home on June 28, 2021.
Jack was born in Hackleburg, Alabama, on August 10, 1929. He graduated high school from Saint Bernard Preparatory School in Cullman, Alabama, and from Florence State Teachers College, in Florence, Alabama. Following his service in the United States Air Force, Jack attended the Medical College of Alabama and completed his residency in anesthesiology there, as well. He practiced anesthesiology in Florence, Alabama, and Huntsville, Alabama, for thirty years. He enjoyed flying, gardening, traveling, playing piano, and studying the French language.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chalmers Arthur Hyatt and Ina Mae Gilbreth Hyatt; his sister, JoAnn Hyatt Nelson; his son, Arthur Jack Hyatt, Jr.; and his stepson, Mike Esslinger. He is survived by his loving wife, Anne Esslinger Hyatt; four children, Kathleen Hyatt Millen (Kevin) of Birmingham, Alabama, Peter Collin Hyatt (Beth) of Carrollton, Texas, Timothy Lee Hyatt (Nicolette Harrington) of LaConner, Washington, and Laurence David Hyatt (Vicky) of McDonough, Georgia; grandchildren, Amelia Millen Kingsley (John), William Arthur Millen (Maggie), Mary Linden Hyatt, and Colleen Michelle Hyatt; great-grandchildren, Madeline Kilgo and Anne Wright Dorothy Millen; stepchildren, Wendy Esslinger Martin and Tim Esslinger; step-grandchildren, Olivia Martin Klaas, Hannah Esslinger and Jake Esslinger.
The family will hold a private memorial service.
