TUSCUMBIA-Art of the Dish, the popular antique china exhibit, returns to Belle Mont Mansion in Tuscumbia as part of the 2023 Helen Keller Festival. The antique and vintage china display, representing more than two centuries of place settings, will be displayed in inspiring tablescapes throughout the mansion Thursday-Saturday, June 22-24, 2023. Regular museum hours and admission rates apply. As a new twist, this year’s exhibit will also feature antique and vintage wedding dresses and wedding china.
On Friday, June 23, and Saturday, June 24, historian George Terrell will present an entertaining
presentation on 1800’s tablescapes and dining. Terrell, a native of Tuscumbia, is a former
history professor, now retired from Gadsden State Community College.

“The Art of the Dish is always such a lovely event,” said Jackie Stutts, co-chair of the event.
“This year we are so excited to add a new component to the exhibit as we feature vintage
wedding dresses and share the stories of weddings, china and love stories from long ago. We
encourage everyone to join us for George Terrell’s fascinating presentation on dining in the
1800’s, a delicious lunch and an interesting tour of antique china and vintage wedding apparel.”
