ART, MUSIC and FILM – all happening in February….TVAA

TVAA logoCOLBERT COUNTY-February is always a cold monthand dreary.  Tennessee Valley Art Association plans to brighten up and warm the souls  with Art. Music and Movies.  Here are just a few fun events planned for February at TVAA!

 

January 17 – March 4
at The Tennessee Valley Museum of Art, Tuscumbia, Ala.
M-F:  9:00 – 5:00,  Sun. 1:00 – 3:00,  closed Sat.Art of the State
4th biennial juried exhibition of works by studio art faculty from Alabama’s colleges & universities.
February 8
Valentine Found Object Art Class
9:00 am to 12:00 pm – one session
at the Tennessee Valley Museum of Art

February 19
Dorothea Lange: Grab a Hunk of Lightning
film by Dyanna Taylor
7:00 pm at the Ritz Theatre, Sheffield, Ala
a 110-minute film narrated and directed by Dorothea Lange’s granddaughter, award-winning filmmaker Dyanna Taylor, tells the compelling story of the passion, vision, and drive that made Lange one of the most important documentary photographers of the 20th century.

February 20
Bluegrass with Jake Landers & Friends
Live performances, starting at 11:00 am till 9:30 pm at the Ritz Theatre in Sheffield
Lineup:

4:30 pm & 9:00 pm – Southern Strangers

Musicians will meet and greet audiences in the Encore Room at the Ritz throughout the day. Chili, hot dogs, snacks and soft drinks will be available.
