DECATUR-The Decatur Police Department resolved a burglary case that took place on September 9. Here is a statement regarding the burglary case and the arrest of one person:
“SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:
On September 9th, 2015, 47 year old male victim filed a burglary report with the Decatur Police Department. According to him, the offender entered his residence and stole several items. Det. Selby De Leon with the Property Crimes Unit was assigned to the case.
During the course of the investigation, Melissa McElroy Holmes was developed as the suspect in this case. Melissa and the victim had a dating relationship in the past.
On October 2nd, 2015, Melissa was located on the southwest section of Decatur, while she was driving on a revoked driver’s license. She was transported to the Decatur Police Department, where she was later charged with Domestic Violence II – Burglary III, and Driving While Revoked.
Melissa will later be transferred to the Morgan County jail in lieu of 5,000.00 bond once she makes bond on the misdemeanor charge.”
