MADISON COUNTY-Madison County Sheriff Blake Dorning released a statement concerning the shooting death of Christopher Hamlett on Sunday, September 3:
“Sheriff Blake Dorning announced today that on September 3rd 2017 at approximately 9:30 am the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Deputies were dispatched to a call for service at 156 Dexter Circle Madison, Al 35757 in reference to a shooting incident.
Upon their arrival Christopher Hamlett B/M 21 years of age was found deceased. It was later determined by investigators that Sammie Lee Driskell B/M 44 years of age had shot Hamlett and he died from his injuries.
Driskell was charged with murder and booked into the Madison County Dentention facility on a $50,000.00 bond.”
