FLORENCE-On Friday, February 26 the Florence Police Department released a statement concerning the arrest of a suspect wo has been charged with Theft 1st Degree and 49 counts of possession of a forged instrument 3rd:
“On January 12, 2021, we received a report of a male conducting an organized financial crime scheme where numerous forged checks were deposited into numerous accounts at a Shoals area credit union. Multiple branches were used and over $16,000 was taken.
Detective Justin Wright was able to connect video obtained by the credit union to identify the perpetrator as Abdul M Arnold of Florence.
Warrants were obtained and Arnold was arrested on February 25, 2021, for Theft of Property 1st degree and 49 counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument 3rd degree. Arnold is currently incarcerated on a $79,000 bail.”
