Arnold Ralph Eddy, 81, of Hartselle, Alabama passed away on March 22, 2015 at his residence. He was surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born on November 19, 1933 in Marshall County to parents Buford and Berta Eddy. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Saipan. He went on to a career as a farmer and poultry service specialist at ConAgra, where he received numerous awards and recognition. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Arnold never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in need. His sense of humor will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of meeting him.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Eva Eddy. They were married Nov. 13, 1954, in Roanoke, Virginia.
He is lovingly remembered by his children, Susan Kinney (Dan) of McCalla, David Eddy (Tammy) of Hartselle, Steven Eddy (Glynda) and Stephanie Burroughs, both of Vinemont; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ronald Eddy of Fairview and Shirley Eddy of Hartselle; two sisters, Etna Civils of Vinemont and Sandra Bingham of Hazel Green; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Loyd Howard Eddy and James Arlo Eddy, and his sister, Leaten Eddy Smith.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Brooks Barkley and Joshua Sparkman officiating. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.
Matthew Eddy, Micah Eddy, Joseph Kinney, Nicholas Eddy, Jacob Scherzer, Joshua Shannon, Lewis Allen Bingham, and Toby Eddy will serve as pallbearers.
