Arnold Goodwin – Obituary

arnoldArnold Goodwin, 91, of Killen passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015, surrounded by his family.

Visitation will be Friday, September 11, 2015, at Elkins East Chapel from 11 AM to 1 PM.  Funeral services will follow at 1 PM in the Chapel with Pud Harrison, Rusty and Corey Murks officiating.  Burial will be at Killen City Cemetery.

He was a loving father, grandfather, and friend to all that knew him.  Arnold had a contagious smile that will be remembered by many.

Mr. Goodwin served in the US Army during WWII,  was retired from T.V.A. as a pipe-fitter/welder,  was an avid baseball player and fan, was president of the Killen Diner’s Club, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a Shriner.

Mr. Goodwin was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth Parker Goodwin; parents, Bennie David Goodwin and Ethel McGee Goodwin.

Mr. Goodwin is survived by his two daughters, Charlotte Crunk (Dan) and Shelaine Martin (John); sister, Geneva Wright; five grandchildren, Suzanne Jones (Charlie), Whitney Hollingsworth (Curt), Camille Newby, Corey Murks (Laura), and Rusty Murks (Kylie); eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Corey Murks, Rusty Murks, Zachary Matjazic, Cody Matjazic, Spenser Matjazic, and Landon Newby.  Honorary pallbearers will be Kyler Murks, Parker Murks, Buddy Bowen, Curt Hollingsworth, and Alan Wright.
