Arnold Gene Prince, age 75, of Russellville, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Helen Keller Hospital.
Gene was a 1965 Russellville High School Graduate. He then proudly served his nation in the U.S. Navy. After the Navy, he came home to attend UNA and graduated from there in 1973 with a degree in Elementary Education. He worked as a teacher and assistant principal at Mt. Star Junior High until the school closed. Gene’s career then spanned then for 35 years in the grocery business. He was a lifelong cattle farmer, served on the Board of Directors for the Franklin County Cattlemen Association, and was named as a previous Franklin County Cattleman of the Year. He was an avid animal lover and a strong advocate in keeping dogs from being chained up.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Doris Ann Tollison Prince; parents Roy & Pauline (Allen) Prince; siblings, Travis Prince, Mary Jo Franks, Nell Berryman, and Gailey Prince.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Chris Prince (wife, Rena), grandchildren, Eli Prince, Evan Prince; special friend, Cathy Barnes; and several nieces & nephews.
The visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel, with Bro. James McCullar officiating the service. Burial will be at Franklin Memory Gardens.
