Arminta Leatherwood was born June 8, 1937 in McNairy County, TN the daughter of the late Elmer Robert and Minnie Love Jones Leatherwood.
Arminta was a Ramer High School graduate. She began work as a beautician in 1955, opening the Ramer Beauty Shop in 1960. Arminta was a member of the Antioch church of Christ in Ramer. She greatly loved her family, her co-workers, and her church. She enjoyed working in her yard (especially weed-eating) and taking care of others. While working as a beautician, Arminta would make house calls to do hair for people who were sick, or she would pick them up and bring them to her shop. She was a generous person whose purpose in life was to serve her family and community.
Arminta departed this life on August 9, 2016 in Ramer, Tennessee at the age of 79 Years, 2 Months, 1 Day. She is survived by two daughters, Sherry Wiggins and husband Jeff and Shelia McClain, all of Ramer, TN; four grandchildren: Kyle Wiggins, Jesse McClain, Jenna McClain, and Jayda McClain; two great-grandchildren, Kase Wiggins and Kynlee Wiggins; and many extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Arminta was preceded in death by a sister, Dixie Magdalene Hardin, and a brother, Robert Lee Leatherwood.
