Arlin Franklin WoodallArlin Franklin Woodall of Muscle Shoals was born in Franklin County, Alabama, on May 22, 1945. He went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at the age of 79.

Arlin worked in floor covering for over 50 years. He was known for his humor and was always the life of any gathering. In 1970, he and his family became known as the Southern Gospel group, The Woodalls. The Woodalls quickly gained recognition throughout the Southeast for their rich family harmony and traveled for more than 50 years. Arlin also loved hunting, guns, and was a skilled leather craftsman. There was nothing he couldn’t fix. He also served his church as a deacon and Sunday school teacher for 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Letha Woodall, and his daughter-in-law, Rebecca Woodall.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Jackie Woodall; his brother, James Woodall (Anita); his sister, Lola Burke; his daughter, Connie Beth Grinnell (Jim); his son, Greg Woodall (Dawn); his grandchildren, Clint Grinnell (Melanie), Clay Grinnell (Anna), Ashlyn Price (Brayden), Lauren Collins (Nathan), Greer Underwood, and Bauer Underwood; and his great-grandchildren, Griffin Grinnell, Ella Grinnell, Katy Grinnell, Bentley Price, and Madalyn Price. He also leaves behind a host of extended family and friends.

A celebration service will be held at Florence First Assembly of God on Wednesday, March 26. The family will receive guests from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with the service to follow. A private burial will take place on Thursday.
