Arlene Theresa DiCenzo Russo, age 84 of Lineville, precious to all of us, ended her earthly journey on September 20, 2023. She loved fiercely and was the source of strength for us all. A Celebration of Life will be held in the coming weeks.
Arlene was born in Cook County, Illinois on July 9, 1939 to parents Carmen R. and Lucy Iacullo DiCenzo. She had an older sister named Kay, who was married to Howard Burns. She had many nieces and nephews whom she adored.
Arlene grew up in Chicago, Illinois to Italian Immigrant Parents. Calabria, Italy was a place she always desired to visit. She married Vincent Russo Sr. on November 25, 1961, and loved in Schaumburg, Illinois with their children, Kim and Vince Jr. Arlene worked for Mercury Metal Products and retired after many years of service. In 2001, they moved to Naples, Florida where they resided until 2011 when they moved to Georgia and eventually Alabama.
Arlene was best known for her love and loyalty to family. She relied on her strong faith to guise her through difficult times. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, golfing, and spending time with family.
Arlene is survived by her husband, Vincent L. Russo Sr; her two children: Daughter, Kimberly Russo Dewal and her fiancé, John Luczynski, and son Vincent L. Russo Jr. and his wife Rhonda M. Russo; seven grandchildren: Kyle Jaconis, Taylor Jaconis (and her partner Carlos Correa), Luke Jaconis (Summer Pliskow), Stephen Drwal, Carmen Russo (Jordan Landers), Andrew and Joshua Haynes (Victoria Haynes); three great-grandchildren: Camila Correa, Winter and Zepplin Haynes.
Mom holds a special place in all our hearts and we are forever grateful that she was our “Sweetheart”.
