Archie Rulfs Brown, age 87, Russellville, passed away on Monday, April 03, 2017 at Terrace Manor Nursing Home.
The visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 06, 2017 at Spry Memorial Chapel, with a memorial service and interment to follow in the Attoyac Cemetery in San Augustine, TX.
Archie was born to Jake Brown and Vena (Holloway) Brown on July 02, 1929 in San Augustine, TX. He lived in Blackjack, TX for his younger years before moving to Colbert County where he worked and retired from Reynolds Metal Company. He later moved to Franklin County, filling his final years outdoors with the roosters, animals, and things that he loved.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Archie E. Brown, Sr., Ervin A. Brown, Sr., of Tuscumbia, Freeman Kyle Brown of Vancouver, WA, Aaron Brown of Russellville, and Brandon Brown of Killen; sister Irven (Brown) Shaw of Nacogdoches, TX; brothers, Harley Brown of Longview, TX, Paul Brown of Garrison, TX, Wayne Brown of Nacogdoches, TX, and Nolan Brown of Nacogdoches, TX. He was also blessed with seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren whom he loved and cared for even in the final moments of his extraordinary life.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jake Brown, mother, Vena Brown; brothers, Norris, Morris, Alfred, Leonard, Clearance Brown; and sisters, Mattie Doyen and Ruth Brown.
Archie Brown can be remember for many things over his 87 years with us. His love of family, friends, and community, were his greatest concerns.
Without God, Love, Family, and True Friends, the joy of a real and full life cannot be known.
