MONTGOMERY – Regional Care was seeking to construct a hospital to replace Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital, and the Certificate of Need Board had a unanimous vote this afternoon to allow a 280-bed hospital to be built in Florence.
At the board meeting , Keller officials contested the number saying that 280 beds would put the hospital out of business. Earlier this year, a judge that heard the case, recommended that it only be approved for 233 beds.
