Antoni (“Toni”) Kozlowski, 82, beloved husband and father, died on July 26, 2024, due to complications after a fall.
Born during World War II in Poland, Toni went on to receive a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Warsaw University of Technology (Politechnika Warszawska) and married his beloved wife Hanna in 1969. After living in Poland until 1989, Toni came to the United States for a Postdoctoral research position at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, bringing Hanna and his son Maciej (“Matt”) with him. Toni became a research scientist at Shearwater Polymers which became Nektar Therapeutics and worked there until retirement, helping develop a number of novel pharmaceuticals. After retiring from Nektar, Toni spent several years taking care of his beloved wife until she passed in October of 2023.
Survivors include his son Matt and his sister Dana, who still resides in Poland.
The funeral mass will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2024 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
