Anthony Marion Robinson, also known as Tony, passed away peacefully in is home surrounded by his family on August 13, 2023, at the age of 74 in Harvest, Alabama. He was born on July 20, 1949, in Anniston, Alabama. Tony was a beloved son, father, brother, husband, grandpa, uncle, and friend.
Known for his honesty, loyalty, and his fun loving and ‘yes dear’ nature. Tony was adored by everyone he met. He had a heart of gold and would go out of his way to help anyone. He never met a stranger. Tony had an extreme passion for hunting and watching Alabama football, always loudly cheering on the Crimson Tide. He loved and cherished spending time with family and friends, always laughing and making jokes.
Tony is survived by his daughters, Chance Robinson Flynn and Kim Robinson. His grandson Matthew Flynn and granddaughter Matthew Flynn and granddaughter Makayla Flynn. Wife Donna Robinson, her sons Nathan Smith, Morgan and wife Megan Smith and their children Abby, Haddy, and Penelope. He is also survived by his sisters Beverly Robinson and Diane and Harold West as well as nephew Paul Robinson and mother of his children and grandchildren Linda Manning. Preceded in death by his parents Ottis Marion Robinson, Betty Catlett Robinson, grandmother Lee Catlett and nephew Jason Lee West.
Tony graduated from Lee High School in Huntsville, AL. He served 6 years in the Alabama National Guard, Signal Battalion. He installed flooring for many years then pursued a career as cable installer and undergound cable for Essex cable. Eventually retiring from Mediacom.
A memorial/celebration of Tony’s life will be held Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Sharon Johnston Park, Pavilion 6, in New Market, AL from 1-5 P.M. There will be snacks and drinks served. This gathering will provide an opportunity for all those who knew and loved him to celebrate his life and share their best stories and fondest memories of Tony/Goober.
Tony will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all those whose lives he touched. His memory will be forever cherished, and his legacy of love will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He was one of the good ones. We love and miss you so much Dad every moment of every day. Till we meet again Father, Roll Tide Roll !!!
