Annie "Maw Faye" Benson Annie “Maw Faye” Benson was born on December 17, 1940 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Elmer Richard and Mary Ann Hopper Qualls.

Annie worked at Walnut Grove Furniture Manufacturing, Brown Shoe Company, Kay Windsor Manufacturing, and Ripley Industries. Her grandchildren knew her as “Maw Faye” and she loved them very much. Annie enjoyed going fishing and watching ballgames.

Annie “Maw Faye” Benson departed this life on February 1, 2023 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 82 years, 1 month, and 15 days.

She is survived by her daughters, Anna Lou Williams and her husband Ernest, Bonnie Hogan, Becky Highland, and Laura Vinson, all of Savannah, Tennessee and Barbara Hancock of Elkhart, Indiana; sons, Cleatus Benson, Tommy Benson and his wife Elaine, Vernie Benson, and Dewayne Benson and his wife Susan, all of Savannah, Tennessee; brothers, Charlie Qualls of Elkhart, Indiana and Melvin Qualls of Osceola, Indiana; 26 grandchildren; 8 step grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. Annie is also survived her special dog, “Charlie”, who was always by her side.

In addition to her parents, Annie was preceded in death by her sisters, Edna Dee Ford and Patsey Ann Qualls Reeves; brothers, Hoppy Qualls, Jamie Qualls, Earl Qualls, Grady Qualls, and Billy Qualls; grandchildren, Melissa Benson, Tim Williams, and Ernest Lynn Williams; great grandchild, Grayson Bagget; special “son”, Ronnie Dale Hindman; special friend, Billy Wayne Scott; and the father of her children, Harold Benson.
