Annie Louise Bailey Carroll, 81, lifelong resident of Union County, passed away peacefully Monday July 29, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany surrounded by loved ones.

Funeral Services honoring the life of Mrs. Annie will be at 2 PM Friday August 2, 2024, in the Memory Chapel of New Albany Funeral and Creamtion Care with Bro. Bobby Butler officiating. Visitation will be from 11 AM until time of service on Friday August 2, 2024, at New Albany Funeral and Cremation Care. Burial will follow in Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery in Myrtle, MS.

Born January 30, 1943, in Union County, Mrs. Annie was the daughter of the late Melba Beaty and Luther and Nannie Lou Reed Littlejohn. She began school at New Harmony School, before transferring to the Union County School System, where she received her education. She was a valued employee with the Comfort Inn Hotel for fifty-seven years, working in the laundry service department, until her retirement.

A Christan and member of Beulah Baptist Church, Mrs. Annie’s favorite pastimes included sharing time with family, shopping, and browsing around local flea markets and yard sales. She embodied the best qualities in life, which were her strong-willed personality, caring nature for family and friends, and bright smile that could light up any room. Although we are saddened today, we will always remember Mrs. Annie for the joy and love she brought to everyone she knew.

Those left to cherish her memories include two daughters, Lisa Butler, and Teresa Rodgers (Paul), one son, Charles Bailey (Landi), two sisters, Paulette Vernon and Vicky Turner, one brother, Phillip Thomas, seven grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Keith Gilliam, one sister, Georgan Gann, two brothers, David and Roy Thomas, and a son in law, David Butler.
