Annie Lou Spalding, 85, a Huntsville native, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, February 6. Annie was beautiful, sassy, and fiercely loyal to all she loved. She attended Butler High School and remained lifelong friends with classmates. Annie attended Willowbrook Baptist Church.
She was predeceased by her first husband and father of her children, Nolan Hendrix; her second husband, Jay Spalding; brothers, Kenney, Jack, Robert, and Billy Wagoner; and sister, Betty Jean Wagoner.
Survivors include daughter, Melissa Belcher (Bill); son, Jeff Hendrix (Sue); grandchildren, Wesley Belcher, Andrew Belcher (Krista), Allison Fields (Spencer), and Ian Hendrix (fiancée Kimberly); great-grandchildren, Madalynn, Charleston, and Eleanor; sister, Daphine Popwell (Roger); and nieces and nephews.
Annie loved being at the beach with her family and having her family gathered at her home.
She will be remembered for her infamous chocolate pies, Christmas Eve family dinners, and her love of live music and ballroom dancing.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home Saturday, February 10, 2024. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor John Stone officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
