Mrs. Annie Lois Toney Scott  Mrs. Annie Lois Scott, 90, of Huntsville, AL, passed away at her home on August 4, 2023, at 9 a.m. Born on July 17, 1933, in Huntsville, AL, Annie was the daughter of the late Nathan Toney, Sr. and Ada Bell Barnes Toney.  She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Annie had a zest for life and a servant’s heart. She was known for her generosity with her time and resources, always seeking ways to help and support others. Family was of utmost importance to Annie, and she continuously found ways to guide and cheer them on. She had an avid love for reading and often shared books and articles on health and well-being with her loved ones. Annie believed in living life to the fullest and encouraged others to do the same.

Annie’s talents were vast and varied. She was an exceptional cook, renowned for her homemade rolls and chicken-n-dressing. Additionally, she was a gifted seamstress and a professional bargain hunter, always finding treasures that she believed would bless others. Annie was a self-taught carpenter and interior designer, believing that a house should be a place of constant renewal and reinvention.

Nature brought Annie great joy, and she could often be found gardening, cutting the grass, and taking walks in her neighborhood. She had her favorite hangouts, such as Habitat for Humanities, Home Depot, and health food stores, where she enjoyed spending her time. Annie had a contagious laugh and loved sharing old-time stories with family and friends. She spent many hours on the phone talking with her sister Ceola. Her sweet and gentle spirit made her a beautiful person loved by all who knew her.

Annie’s faith was an integral part of her life. She trusted in the Lord wholeheartedly and lived her life as a testament to His love and grace. She often shared her faith with others, believing that there was nothing God couldn’t do if one placed their trust in Him.

Annie will be deeply missed by her surviving family members, including her daughters Tina Caudle (Leroy) and Hope Beale (Michael), as well as her granddaughters Tawana, Anastacia and Orielle. She was preceded in death by her husband George, seven brothers, and six sisters.

Annie completed high school in Chattanooga, TN.  Annie retired from Chrysler Corporation, where she was a loyal member and supporter of her local UAW.

Annie found solace and strength in her faith and attended Chelsea C.P. Church, where she confessed hope in Christ at an early age. She later transferred her membership to Madkins Chapel C.P. Church, where she remained a faithful member.

Annie Lois Scott touched the lives of many with her generosity, laughter, and unwavering faith. Her memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends.

While we grieve the loss of our Mom, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, we have chosen to remember her in a way that honors her love for life.  We have chosen to live life to its fullest, just like Mom did.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 11, 2023, at the Madkins Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America (2403 Oakwood Road, Huntsville, AL 35810) with Bishop Daniel J. Richardson as eulogist and Reverend Debra McGlathery Holden officiating. Interment will be in the Huntsville Memory Gardens.

There will be no public viewing.
