Annie Gertrude Payne Lutz, age 87 passed away October 10, 2023, at the Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born December 5, 1935, in Georgia, the daughter of the late Leland and Ola Gertrude Carr. She finished high school in Greenville, SC, and married Leonard Lutz in 1966. They made their home in South Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky, and West Virginia, where Mr. Lutz served as a minister and Mrs. Lutz did clerical and secretarial work. They moved to Henderson in 2015.
She loved gardening, cooking, and working puzzles.
She was a member of the Estes Church of Christ.
Mrs. Lutz is survived by a son, Allan Lutz of Erlanger, KY and a daughter, Lisa Eldridge Kress of Henderson; four grandchildren, Emma Eldridge, Danielle Eldridge, Alacia Lutz, and Renee Lutz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leonard Allen Lutz in 2020; two brothers, Charlie and Melvin Payne and a sister, Helen McMahan.
Graveside services will be 3:00 PM Friday, October 13th at Old Estes Cemetery with Mark Blackwelder officiating.
The family will receive friends at Old Estes Cemetery beginning at 2:30 PM until 3:00 PM on Friday.
