Annie Bernice Bates Booker was born on December 30, 1949, in Leighton, Alabama, to the late Robert Lee and Dorothy Bates. Annie was the third child out of four children. Annie accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. New Home M.B. Church in Leighton, Alabama. Later, Annie joined Bethel Colbert M.B. Church, under the leadership of Rev. Leo Owens and now Pastor Wesley Thompson, where she served faithfully until a sudden illness occurred.
Annie was a very devoted member of her church, where she served as a member of the usher board and food committee. Annie was also a Matron, and she also served a member the Deaconess Missionary Society. Annie Booker made her transition to her heavenly home Saturday, April 20, 2024, in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Annie was married to John Booker for 57 amazing years. She was a loving and devoted wife. Annie was employed at GC Lingerie in Tuscumbia, Alabama for many years, until she took a new role at Colbert County HeadStart as the Cafeteria Manager. Annie, also known as “Jug” and “Big Honey” was especially known for her cooking. She would literally cook for anyone.

Her loving husband, John Booker of Leighton, AL; one devoted daughter, Teresa Booker of Leighton, AL; one brother, Joseph Franklin Bates (Brenda) of Leighton, AL; three grandsons, Marquis Booker (Malaysia) Athens, AL, Marecus Mosley (Monique) of Huntsville, AL, and Maurice Booker Leighton, AL; five wonderful grandchildren, Martavious Mosley, Amir Mosley, Jordyn Harris, Darius Nelson, and Jaden Richmond; two devoted nieces, Paula Hayes of Atlanta, GA and Granessi Bates of Huntsville, AL; a bonus daughter, Tenia Jackson; special cousins, Mattie Perkins of Leighton, AL; Willie Jones of Muscle Shoals, AL; Josie Burgess of Muscle Shoals, AL; and Patricia Perkins of Sheffield, AL; special friends, Jean Davis, Alice Perkins, and Gladys Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
