Annette L. SandersonAnnette Little Sanderson “Annie”

Our “Annie,

” Annette Little Sanderson passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on

March 27, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. On Sunday, March 30th, the family will receive

friends prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the First United

Methodist Church in Moulton, Alabama. A celebration of her life will follow in the sanctuary at 2:00

p.m. A woman of grace, faith, generosity, and unwavering kindness, she left a legacy of love that will

be cherished by all who knew her.

Born on January 26, 1940 in Moulton, Alabama, Annie was raised with the values of faith, family

and Southern hospitality. The oldest of three children, Annie was proud of her family and reveled in

being the “eldest.

” She graduated from Lawrence County High School in 1958 and quickly caught

the eye of the love of her life and devoted husband for 66 years, Arthur “Ott” Sanderson. Annie was

just as smart as she was elegant, and she followed her passion for design to Auburn University. Annie

had exceptional taste when it came to interior design, and she was a skilled entrepreneur. When

Annie got married, she moved back to Moulton with Ott to begin their many adventures together,

including owning a home furnishings shop and a grocery store. Annie also published her own

cookbook,

“Good Taste,

” and forwarded all profits to the Foundation Fighting Blindness in honor of

her son, Scott. She was a devoted member of Moulton Methodist Church, where she found great joy

in worship, serving others and bringing beauty to everything she touched. She carried herself with

elegance and warmth, always welcoming others with a smile, a kind word and a heart full of

compassion. Her devotion to her family and her deep-rooted Christian faith were the cornerstones of

her life.

A true Southern lady, Annie had an effortless hospitality that made everyone feel at home in her

presence. Whether she was hosting Sunday lunches, perfecting her “perfect” chocolate cake (and

really all recipes she could get her hands on), or selecting the “just right” paint color, she somehow

struck a balance between Martha and Mary- serving and tending to every single detail while

simultaneously giving those around her the gift of her complete presence and a listening ear that

instantly put you at ease.

Annie is survived by her beloved husband, Arthur “Ott” Warren Sanderson, her two children-

Gregory Scott Sanderson (Cathy) and Warren Bart Sanderson (Kate), and three grandchildren- Grace

Katherine Kaehny Sanderson, Jemma Rose Kaehny Sanderson, Laura Lee Wood and great grandson

Oliver Wood. Annie is also survived by her brother, James Farol Little (Karen). She was preceded in

death by her parents, William and Rubye Little and sister, Carol Little Buckins.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley.

To say that she will be missed simply does not explain the void she will leave behind. We now

rejoice that her suffering has ended, and we have an angel watching over us as we step through the

days ahead. We love you Annie, and are forever grateful and honored to call you ours
