Anne Allison Devers, 87 passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 14, 2024 with family and friends by her side. Anne was known by her nieces and nephews as “Aunt Anne”. She was a wonderful mother, aunt, sister and friend. Anne was an artist, wrote beautiful poetry, enjoyed gardening and genealogy. Anne was the most spiritual, kind loving person and enjoyed telling stories of growing up in Stevenson and living on the farm. She was a quiet person and had a lot of wit to her personality.
Anne was born to Frances Grider Allison and George Milton Allison. She married Kenneth Devers and they had two children Donald Devers and Margaret Devers. She was born on April 9, 1936.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth Donald Devers, Sr., her daughter Margaret Devers, and her son Kenneth Donald Devers Jr. sisters Helen St. Clair and Carolyn McMahan, brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Annetta Allison.
She is survived by her brother Don Allison (Mary) of Huntsville, AL and several beloved nieces, nephews and a host of special friends. Anne was a member of First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to First Baptist Church c/o “Give Love Fund” at 215 South Andrews Street Scottsboro, Alabama 35768.
We will remember Anne for her compassion and her gentle spirit. She loved her friends and family and loved spending time with them. She is an example of a life well lived and she will be missed by all. We are all blessed to have had her in our lives.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church with a memorial service at 1:00 p.m.
Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Scottsboro.
