Anne Alexander of Pontotoc, MS passed away peacefully on February 20, 2024, at the age of 90. She was married to Rev. Robert David Alexander, Sr. who proceeded her in death. Mrs. Alexander was a member of Pontotoc First United Methodist Church, and she faithfully served in Christian ministry for over 40 years. She was also a member of various organizations including the DAR and multiple garden clubs. She was an avid reader of books and poetry and enjoyed the fine arts.
Graveside services were held on February 23, 2024, at Pontotoc City Cemetery. Rev. Matthew Freeman officiated, and Tutor Memorial Funeral Home oversaw arrangements.
Anne Alexander is survived by her two sisters Elizabeth Hunt of Marion, NC and Susan Edwards of Jacksonville, FL; her two daughters Susanne A. Malatesta (Larry) and Catherine A. Kelly (Rocky); her three grandchildren Phillip Malatesta (Alison) of Birmingham, AL, Kimberly Silverman (Chris) of Raleigh, NC, and Will Kelly (Morgan) of Brandon, MS; and three great-grandchildren, Rebekah Malatesta, Avery Malatesta, and Georgia Kelly, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her late husband, she was proceeded in death by her son Robert David Alexander, Jr., her brother Dr. Oliver Raymond Hunt, Jr., and her parents Annie Muldrow Hunt and Oliver Raymond Hunt, Sr. The family would like to also extend their gratitude to Minnie Stone and Angie Calvert for their devoted care, comfort, and support. In Lieu of flowers, family requests that memorials be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children or to a charity of one’s choosing.
