Rose was born in Cowden, Illinois on February 15, 1928. She attended Cowden High School and graduated in 1945. She married her high school beau, Wayne Miller, on Feb. 13, 1947 and gave birth to Julie Ann Miller in 1958. She held jobs at the Oliver Corporation in Shelbyville, IL and at J.C. Penney in Decatur, AL where she not only did office work and customer service, but modeled their clothes for the local paper several times. She attended and was a faithful member of Decatur Christian Church for most of her adult life and is now a member at Impact Church. Rose’s many passions included camping, square dancing, line dancing, ballroom dancing, traveling, going out to eat, and playing card games with friends and family. She lived a long life and lived it to the fullest. If we could take her life and sum up what she has taught us it would be to live your life to the fullest, celebrate any occasion with friends and family, dance till you drop, travel often, play to win and Never Act Your Age!
The family would like to thank the loving staff at Riverside Senior Living, who we call family! She had eight years of special memories, activities and making forever friends. We would also like to thank the loving staff of Hospice of the Valley for helping our family navigate through such a difficult time. Their overwhelming compassion, attentive care and their thoughtfulness to our every need was beyond what we could imagine. To Impact church and all our friends and family that have supported and prayed for us, Thank You! And finally, Thank you to Chatan Robinson and Vicky Halbrooks for their special care they provided. We are forever grateful!
