Anna Lucille Courington Vickery

Anna Lucille Courington Vickery, a cherished member of her community and a devoted friend, passed away on October 15, 2024, at the age of 78. A lifelong member of Concord Baptist Church, Anna’s faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her through both joys and challenges.

Her visitation will be Monday, October 21, 2024 from 11:00AM – 12:00noon at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville, AL. Funeral service at 12:00NOON in the chapel, with Bro. Shawn Blanton officiating. Burial to follow in Bear Creek No. 1 Cemetery.

Born and raised in Natural Bridge, Anna attended the Natural Bridge School House and proudly graduated from Lynn High School, where she was known for her spirited enthusiasm as a cheerleader. She carried that same passion throughout her life, especially as a devoted fan of University of Alabama football, a love she shared with friends and family.

Anna is survived by her nieces, Renee Courington and Donna Courington; her sister-in-law, Marie Courington; and her great nieces and nephews Anna and Alex Beaver, Hannah and Ben Wendlandt, and Olivia Courington; nephew Michael Pace; Dwayne’s daughter and her family, Debbie Vickery, her husband Derell Dobbs and sons Trey and Matthew Dobbs; his niece, Jenny Evers, and nephews, Tim and Phillip Vickery. She took great pride in her family and cherished the time spent with them.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwayne Vickery; her parents, Virgie Courington Dupree and Jim Frank Courington; her brother, Jimmy Ree Courington; and her nephew, David Scott Courington
Anna will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
