Anna Lee Hilbert Woodward 90 died Saturday August 11 2012
A long time resident of Florence, she had lived the last 7 years near her daughter Sharon in Murfreesboro Tennessee

She was born March 30, 1922 in Comanche County, Oklahoma. She was the youngest of 8 children and was preceded in death by her parents Sophia Cessinger Hilbert and Herman Hilbert and seven brothers and sisters Ida, Elsie, Nora, Otto, Walter, Harry and Ellie. Her husband Robert Woodward died in 2001
She is survived by her children: Sharon Scudder, Rodney Woodward and Lee Ann Woodward; grandchildren: Lisa Harsma, Lara Scudder, Ross Woodward, Ryan Woodward, and Alanna Scudder and 9 great grandchildren.

She was the first in her family to graduate from college. She began her teaching career in1944 as Vocational Home Economics Teacher in Hammon, Oklahoma.
For four years she was employed with the Oklahoma Extension Service as Home Agent and Assistant State Clothing Specialist. The remainder of her teaching experience has been in Alabama. Beginning in 1967 she taught remedial reading for two years each at Burrell-Slater High School and Appleby Junior High School.
For the last ten years of her career she taught Occupation Child Care at Burrell-Slater AVC

She attended Cameron Junior College, Lawton, Oklahoma and received the B.S. Degree from Oklahoma State University. She received a Masters Degree in Education from Florence State University (University of North Alabama) and is a member of First United Methodist Church in Florence. She served as the 1983 First Lady of the Alabama District, Kiwanis International.

Anna Lee loved to sew and knit.  Her family is blessed with afghans, sweaters, clothes and stuffed animals she lovingly made for them.

Visitation will begin at 3pm Monday at Greenview Funeral Home followed by graveside services at 4pm in Greenview Memorial Park.
