Anna Lea Hamaker Anna Lea Hamaker passed into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, Mar. 16, 2025, at the age of 74.

She was born to Shirley and Paul Easton in Bethany, Missouri. There she spent her childhood. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in 1963 at First Christian Church in Bethany. She graduated from South Harrison High School in 1968 and attended Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, Missouri. In 1970, she moved to Rolla, Missouri, and relocated to north Alabama two years later.

She married T.C. Hamaker in 1974, and the couple made their home in Athens. They moved to Decatur in 1981 and spent many happy years together. Anna worked at AmSouth Bank, retiring in 1998, only to go back to work there again in the early 2000s. She retired for good in June 2004. She was an avid gardener, a devotee of small dogs, and a follower of Christ. She was known especially for the selfless care she gave to her husband during his lengthy illness.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, and his parents Cliff and Wilma Hamaker. She is survived by her brother Steve Easton (Becky), her husband’s daughters Catrina Swader (Tim) and Brandy Clark (Jerry); grandchildren Teryn Stevenson (James), Jake Swader, Sawyer Swader, Stone Clark, and Grace Clark; great grandson John Rylan Swader; nephew Todd Easton (Nicole); nieces Kerry Hammett (Andrew) and Beth Easton; grand nieces and nephews Lily Easton, Emaline Hammett, Desmond Hammett, and Owen Hammett; her treasured dog Bella Hamaker-Clark; and many dear friends who faithfully and lovingly helped her during her own long illness.

No funeral is planned at this time. A celebration of life may be held in the near future.
