Anna Jo Smith, age 88, Russellville, passed away on Tuesday, September 08, 2015 at Helen Keller Hospital.
She was a member of Newburg Church of Christ. She was the social butterfly of the senior citizens center.
The visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 11, 2015 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Frankie Britnell officiating. Burial will be at Old Bethel Cemetery.
She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Mitchell (husband, Wayne), Diane Hyde (husband, Bobby); grandchildren, Selena Nelson (husband, Tommy), Jeremy Mitchell (wife, Merenda), Mandi Nunley (husband, Brandon), Seth Hyde (wife, Krystal); great-grandchildren, Kasey Nunley, Kaylee Nelson, Jayden Mitchell, Karson Hyde, Lane Nunley, Jessie Mitchell, Clara Nunley, Aubree-Anna Hyde, Jace Mitchell; and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harbert Smith; parents, Charlie & Mattie Buttram; sisters, Beatrice Tubb, Mary Helen Buttram; brothers, Charlie “Dick” Buttram, Billy Buttram, Bobby Buttram; and special sister-in-law, Alice Smith.
The pallbearers will be her grandsons, Tommy Nelson, Jeremy Mitchell, Brandon Nunley, and Seth Hyde. The honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandsons, Jayden Mitchell, Karson Hyde, Lane Nunley, Jessie Mitchell, and Jace Mitchell.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses, CNA’s and staff of Terrace Manor Nursing Home, Dr. Thompson and staff, Dr. Kevin Kelly and staff, and the staff of Helen Keller PCU. Spry Memorial Chapel assisted the family.
