Anna F. Vanhoose Ashby was born in Saltillo, TN on September 19, 1934, the daughter of the late Gabriel Lancaster “Lank” and Margaret Climintine Petty Vanhoose.
Visitation will be; Monday, August 6th, 2012 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM. The funeral service will be in the chapel at Shackelford on Tuesday, August 7th, 2012 10:30 AM.
On November 24, 1954 she was united in marriage to Ival Ashby who survives.
Mrs. Ashby was a retired line supervisor for Angelica, Inc. and had also worked for Savannah Manufacturing. She was born and raised in Saltillo, TN and had also lived in Waynesboro, TN before settling with her husband in Savannah, TN.
She was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Savannah, TN, as well as a member of the Woodmen of the World, and the Order of the Eastern Star.
She enjoyed quilting, sewing, travelling, attending church and club activities, and loved flowers.
She departed this life on Sunday August 5, 2012 at the Hardin Medical Health and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 77 years, 10 months, and 17 days.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Diana Miles of Chattanooga, TN, and Janie Ashby of Pineville, LA.
One sister, Wylodean Franks of White House, TN.
Four grandchildren: Justin Miles, Shanna Burlew, Charla Mouton, Kelsie Gurgainers.
Four great-grandchildren: Riley Burlew, Brooke Burlew, Robbie Amons, and Greggory Mouton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Magdelene Anderson Davis and Bernell Horton, and one brother, Harvey McNeal Vanhoose.
