Ann West Vaughan – Obituary

Ann West Vaughan, 67, died Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at North Miss. Medical Center. Born on June 4, 1949, at Clark Air Force Base in the Phillipines, while her father was on active duty, she is the daughter of the late Raymond Tucker and Martha Gunn West. She lived all her adult life in Shannon and spent over 30 years in the public school systems in Okolona, Guntown, Tupelo and Shannon Schools. Her work included administrative secretary and assistant teacher, among other duties. An avid golfer, she was a member of the Okolona Country Club and enjoyed watching golf on TV. She loved the Vaughan family farm, the cattle and roaming the outdoors. Ann was a member of the Shannon United Methodist Church, volunteered with the Nettleton Food Pantry and enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play sports.
A service celebrating her life will be held at 10 AM Friday, Nov. 18, 2016 at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Rev. Chad Bowen and Rev. Chris McAllily officiating. Private family burial will be at Lee Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 PM-7PM today at Holland, Tupelo Chapel, which is honored to be serving the family.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Tucker Vaughan, to whom she married Aug. 5, 1966; her children: John Vaughan and wife, Elizabeth , Kristy Crawford and husband, Cecil all of Shannnon and Karen Montgomery and husband, David of Santa Fe, Texas; two grandchildren, Kelly Johnson Lauderdale and Anna Brooke Jaggers;. One great grandchild, James Beckett Lauderdale. her brother, Hugh Donald West (Patsy) of Jackson and her sister, Nancy Stacy (Jack) of Pontotoc.
Pallbearers will be Bill West, Russ Howell, Bert Lauderdale, T.J. Roberts, Randy West and Casey Bruce.
