Ann Sadler Milam, 88, of Gurley, passed away Friday.
Ann grew up in the Big Cove Community; she attended Madison County High School in Gurley, Alabama, and graduated in 1954 as valedictorian of her class. She attended Business College in Huntsville and began working at Redstone Arsenal in 1955. Ann worked through 1959 until her first child was born and then retired to become a stay-at-home mother. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, being outside caring for her yard, flowers, birds, and her cat Baby Doll. Ann was devoted to her family and her family was devoted to her as well.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Ewen Sadler, her mother, Henrietta Parker Sadler, and her children’s father, Ronald I. Milam.
Surviving children, Rusty and Pam Milam, Robin Ann and Charles Womack, Tim and Cindy Milam; Grandchildren, Adam and Allison Milam, Gavin and Jessica Milam, Hannah and Drew McAllister, Jordan Milam, Joshua and Claire Milam; Great grandchildren, Cole Milam, Callie Ann Milam, Blake Milam, Max Milam, Camden Moon, Harrington McAllister, Charlotte McAllister and Elizabeth Ann Milam.
Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Michael Carpenter and Bro. Scott Webb officiating. Pallbearers will be Adam Milam, Gavin Milam, Jordan Milam, Joshua Milam, Cole Milam, Shane Glover, George Kelly, and Drew McAllister.
Interment will be in Chestnut Grove Cemetery.
