Ann Hamrick Case – Obituary

annAnn Hamrick Case, 78, of Decatur went to be with her Lord on Sept. 19, 2016.

A Visitation and Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016 from noon to 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with a graveside service immediately following at Decatur City Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her infant son, James Whitt Case; her father, James Max Hamrick and mother, Esther Caudill Case.

Ann is survived by her husband of 62 years, Charles Case; children, Charles “Butch” Case (Tammy), Michael Case (Lynda) and Maria Case Young (Bruce); grandchildren, Brad Case (Debbie), Matthew Case (Amber), Travis Case, Carli Case Horton (Alex), Andrew Case, Christina Young Fowler (Jay), Whitt Young (Melissa), Hannah Glossner, Holly Taylor and eight great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Case had a BS in Education from Athens College and MS in Education from Indiana University.

She taught a variety of grades and subjects in public schools for over 30 years in Alabama, Hawaii, and Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions can be made to the Central Baptist Church of Decatur Building Fund in her name, or a charity of your choice.

Special thanks to her long term physicians Dr. John Irle and Dr. Bill Sims for their long term care and friendship.
