Ann Fleming, age 83, of Hodges, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at her residence.
Ann was born and raised in Hodges, AL where she attended Wiginton School. She graduated from Hackleburg High School in 1955. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at a young age, which led to many years of teaching Sunday school and directing Vacation Bible School. She was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church (Hodges) for 73 years.
She was married to the love of her life, Ed Fleming, for 57 years. They had four children. Ann was known for her quick whit and kind heart. She was blessed with a gift of the Spirit of healing, talents of sewing, and was an excellent cook. She retired from Blue Bell / Wrangler after 30 years of service. Through many years of health issues, she continued to keep her faith, always overcoming the battles. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She leaves behind a large family to cherish her memory, her children, Wade Fleming, Kimberly Burleson (husband, David),Laura Stidham, Karen Fleming; siblings, Wyndell Cantrell, Henry Cantrell (wife, Gail), Kay Scott (husband, Doyle), Thirteen grandchildren; twenty sever great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and friend.
Preceded in death by her spouse, Edward Fleming; parents, David and Rosa Lee Cantrell; son, Randy Fleming; sister, Polly Barnwell; son-in-law, Steve Stidham; granddaughters, Kristyn Cochran, Brittney Smith; great-granddaughter, Izzabella Pike
Visitation will be Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 12-2 p.m. at MT. Olive Baptist Church.
Service will follow at 2 p.m. with Bro. Bro. Tony Wood officiating and burial at Old Line Cemetery.
