Ann Dew Cole Anglin, 85, Athens, AL, passed away peacefully at home on April 26. She was born August 17, 1938, in Monrovia, AL, to James Carlos and Lillian Phillips Cole. She attended school in Monrovia and graduated from Huntsville High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Troy State University and a master’s degree from Alabama A & M.

She married Joe Anglin in 1957. They were blessed with two sons, Philip Dirk Anglin (Cynthia), and Gary Spencer Anglin. She is survived by her husband, children and three grandchildren, Spencer, Jackson, and Sadie Anglin. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, James Carlos (JC) Cole, Jr.

Ann Dew began her teaching career at a young age by teaching a primary Sunday school class at Ford’s Chapel Methodist Church at age 14. She went on to teach for nearly 30 years in the Madison County School System at Monrovia and Liberty Middle Schools.

The family will receive visitors at Laughlin Service Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 pm at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
