Anita Joy “Dudda” Henley, age 89 of Decherd, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024. She was born in the Roarks Cove Community of Decherd on August 17, 1934, to the late Walter and Vivian (Long) Gipson. A devoted homemaker, Dudda cherished the time spent with her beloved family and enjoyed preparing wonderful meals to share with them. She also enjoyed working in her flower garden, listening to music, and traveling, especially to the beach. Dudda had a quiet nature combined with a wonderful sense of humor. She attended Wilders Chapel Church when she was able. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Nema Ruth Hill, and Glenna Sue Woodall. Dudda is survived by her loving husband of seventy-one years, Johnny Henley; son, Teddy (Cathy) Henley; grandchildren, Kari (Sterling) Hubbard, and Tyler (Katie) Henley; great-grandchildren, Liam Hubbard and Willa Hubbard; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 12-2pm on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Watson Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00pm in the Roy B. Watson Chapel of Watson Funeral Home.
