Anita was born on January 9, 1948 in Maury County, Tennessee to the late Joe Claiborne Foster and the late Wyllodean Parker Foster. She graduated from Columbia Central High School in 1966 and worked several years at Albertsons Grocery Store in the deli department. Anita was a member of Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19 Ladies Auxiliary and Southside Baptist Church. If you knew Anita Jo, you couldn’t help but love her, and she loved everyone deeply. She was feisty and never held back, always telling it like it was. She had a heart of gold, a spirit all her own, and a fierce loyalty to the people she cared about. Her presence and laughter will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in all of us.
Survivors include her daughter Andrea Williams (fiancé Dale Brown) of Columbia; son James Kristopher Hardison; three grandchildren, Chase (Rebecca) Vuncannon of Lewisburg, Austin (Kelsey) Parr of Columbia, and Hunter Williams of Columbia; a great granddaughter Greta due in March of 2025; aunt Martha Ruth Luster of Columbia; step sister Teresa Pfieffer McClure; three step brothers, Jimmy (Carrie) Pfieffer, Robert Pfieffer, Michael (Sisse) Pfieffer; and a special friend and roommate Ruth Keeton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Pamela Lynn Foster Brown; stepbrother Joe Pfieffer; stepmother Mayon Derryberry Pfieffer Foster.
The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff of Life Care Center of Columbia; Dr. Gibran Naddy and Nurse Practioner Carey Barr for their exceptional care they provided her over the years.
