Funeral services for Mrs. Anita Adams Bird, age 93, are scheduled for 1 PM, Saturday, August 24, 2024, in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington. Interment will follow in Beech River Cemetery.
Mrs. Bird passed away on Tuesday at her home in Lexington. She was born March 7, 1931 in Lexington to the late Luther and Lillie Azbill Adams. She was retired from Brown Shoe Company and was a member of Fairview Church of Christ. She loved travel, reading, and puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. James Gray Bird; her brother, Joseph Lynn Adams; and three sisters, Beulah Pratt, Sue Myracle, and Lorene Myracle.
Survivors include her four sons, Greg Bird (Lisa), Tom Bird, Jimmy Bird (Paula), and Michael Bird (Marylyn); two daughters, Suzanne Britt (David), Patty Daniel (Monty);her sister-in-law, Claudine Adams; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 23, 2024, 4 – 8 PM and on Saturday, August 24, 2024, 10 AM – 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family request donation be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
