ARDMORE-On Wednesday, November 5, 2025, Limestone County Sheriffโs Deputies served an eviction order at a residence in the 29000 block of Ardmore Avenue in Ardmore, Alabama. During the eviction process, deputies discovered conditions inside the home indicating severe neglect.
Inside the residence, deputies found two children living in unsafe and unsanitary conditions. The Alabama Department of Human Resources (DHR) was immediately notified and responded to the scene. DHR took custody of the children to ensure their safety and well-being.
The home, occupied by Monica Elizabeth Tucker (65) and Evelyn Rose Hill (25), was found to be in extreme disarray, with significant accumulations of feces and urine throughout the residence. While securing the scene, deputies also discovered multiple neglected animals and contacted Limestone County Animal Control and Sheriffโs Office Investigators for assistance.
Upon further investigation, officials located five dogs and seven cats suffering from severe malnourishment and neglect. The animals were transported to a local veterinarian, where examinations revealed organ failure, serious injuries, and infections resulting from prolonged mistreatment.
Based on evidence observed at the scene, probable cause was established to arrest both Tucker and Hill. The suspects were taken into custody without incident.
Sheriff Joshua McLaughlin stated:
โThe conditions discovered in this case were alarming and heartbreaking. No child or animal should ever be subjected to such neglect. I am proud of our deputies, investigators, animal control, and our partner DHR for their quick action to ensure the safety of everyone involved. Our office will continue to pursue justice for the victims and hold those responsible fully accountable.โ
